YOU'RE INVITED!

“Come and hear, all who fear God, and I will tell of what He has done for my soul”
(Psa 66:16).

We like invitations to good things and important events. This is your special invitation to visit us at the Charlestown Rd. church of Christ!

We’ve discovered the secret of life, and we want to share it with you. We’re interested in your spiritual welfare. Come and be our honored guest. Why are you warmly invited?...

Discover the Power of Jesus

Jesus Christ is the centerpiece of history. Our years are reckoned from His birth. What difference has He made in your life?

As the Son of the living God and the Savior of the world, He offers you His gracious invitation: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matt 11:28-30).

Jesus invites those who are weary of the hassles of life and the burden of sin. He alone offers satisfying rest for the soul. His sacrifice on the cross paid the debt of our sin and secured our pardon before God. You just need to accept the terms of His grace and come to Him in obedient faith. “He that believes and is baptized shall be saved” (Mk 16:16).

Jesus invites you to take on His yoke of discipleship. We all must decide what we’ll do with our life. We only live once. Jesus helps us to get it right. He shows us how to be a better, more spiritual person by His transforming truth. "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free" (Jn 8:31-32). He frees us from sin’s bad habits and self-defeating attitudes.

If we give our imperfect lives to the perfect Lord, He can make us whole. His word wasn’t written for our information but for our transformation.

Worship God Your Creator

“Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture” (Psa 100:2-3). We are only because God is. He made us in His image to know and worship Him.

“Worship” is traced from “worthship.” In worship, we proclaim the supreme worth of God. We depend upon Him for everything and He depends on us for nothing. It is an honor and duty to give God His due reverence.

Almighty God wants your worship. Jesus says, “The true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers” (Jn 4:23). True worship helps to focus the mind and purify the spirit on God’s infinite greatness. Correct worship is done with the inner “spirit” of sincerity and astonished wonder at God’s grandeur. The outward acts of worship are guided by God’s revealed “truth.”

God must be pleased first with our offering. Worship shouldn’t man-glorifying entertainment. True, God glorifying worship refreshes our hearts and lifts up our spirits.

In Acts 2:42-47, we see the apostolic church was authorized to worship God by: (1) weekly observance of the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7), (2) listening carefully to gospel preaching, (3) sincere prayers together (Acts 4:24-31), (4) giving generously to support the Lord’s work (1 Cor 16:1-2), and (5) enthusiastic, acappella singing (Eph 5:19, Heb 13:15).

Meet Loving Christians

“The Spirit and the bride say, `Come.’…And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost” (Rev 22:17). The Holy Spirit invites everyone to believe and obey the life-changing gospel. The church, as the bride of Christ, has discovered this soul-saving good news.

We invite you to discover how to quench your spiritual thirst too. In our family Bible classes for all ages, we aim to make the Bible come to life. We offer a home Bible study for you to discover God’s will for your life.

The church isn’t a museum for stuffy saints, but rather it is a hospital for sinners in recovery. The Lord’s church should be a safe, welcoming place. Jesus says one mark of His true church is loving disciples: “love one another even as I have loved you” (Jn 13:34-35).

A sound, Biblical congregation is a mending place of new beginnings. Spiritual fellowship has healing power for those wounded by life’s evils and disappointments. We’re told in the church to “encourage one another and build one another up” (1 Thess 5:11).

Please Come!

So, our invitation to you is: “If you go with us, that whatever good the LORD does for us, we will do for you" (Num 10:32). We’ll look forward to your visit!
